Susan Johnston spent 9 years on Hope District Council and after taking one term off she has returned as the Mayor!

She was born and raised in the Maritimes and has lived in the N.W.T and various parts of B.C.

Her background is in Business Administration, she has worked with the Federal Government, the Provincial Government and the Municipal Government, as well as various positions in the private sector. She's been married for 34 years to her husband George and they have 2 children, a son and a daughter, and they are further Blessed with 2 grandchildren.

Susan has lived in Hope for the last 26 years, Hope is home and this is where her children grew up.

She has a vision for Hope's future and is committed to being a strong Ambassador.

The committee's that will be in her personal portfolio are the Fraser Valley Regional District Board, Fraser Valley Treaty Advisorary Committee, Zoning By-law Amendment Committee, Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District, Municipal Insurance Association of B.C. (Alternate) and the District of Hope Recreation Commission.



Gerry Dyble

Gerry Dyble is serving her first term on Council. She and husband Wayne have lived in Hope for 18 years and raised both their girls in this community.

Gerry is the Executive Director for a local non-profit agency and holds a Master in Business Administration with a speciality in Leadership. Gerry also has her own training and consulting business and has over 15 year’s leadership experience in the non-profit sector; holding various Board positions within the community and province.

Gerry is dedicated to building sustainable organizations and building capacity within communities and works from a strength-based approach, focusing on utilizing strengths to ensure positive outcomes and success.

She believes that to have a thriving, vital community, a community must possess three qualities:

-Economic vitality
-Social equity,and
-Environmental quality goals

Gerry has been appointed to the Hope Emergency Operations Committee and the Regional Parks Committee and an alternate for The Fraser Valley Treaty Advisory.



Tim Hudie

Tim Hudie is serving his second term on Council.

Tim was born in Ontario, raised in Vancouver and has lived in Hope since 1991. Like many Canadians of his generation, Tim has had a couple of successful careers including a Journeyman Tradesman and a Licensed Equities Trader.

Tim has been employed as a technician in the communications industry, presently with Shaw Cablesystems out of Chilliwack.

Tim believes that Hope has enormous potential to become a destinational, residential and recreational area and Tim intends to be part of that potential through his work on Council and to eventually look back on having participated, along with every other citizen, in building a community that is second to none.

Councillor Hudie in 2012 is appointed to the Sister City Committee and is an Alternate on the Regional Airport Commission.

For 2012 Donna is appointed to the UFV Hope Community Council and the Regional Airport Commission,and the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board (Alternate).



Scott Medlock

Scott Medlock is serving his second term on Council.

Scott is a dedicated father and husband and believes in the importance of family. He is connected to the business community through his employment as manager at a local automotive retail/wholesale parts distributor.

Scott is involved in the community serving in many different capacities. Scott is the past president of the Hope Lions Club for 2008-2009 and also serves as a director for the Hope and District Chamber of Commerce.

A diverse economic vision has been enhanced by his involvement as a board member with Community Futures Sun Country. Scott believes that economic development is the key to the success of our community and looks forward to more years of exciting and rewarding service to the District of Hope.

Scott is appointed to the following Committees for 2012:
Hope Emergency Operations Committee and Advantage Hope (Alternate).



Peter Robb

Peter Robb is serving his third term on Council. Peter and his wife Donna have lived in the community for over fifteen years and after over thirty years in the restaurant business they sold their restaurant and have retired in the community.

Peter has local community experience with the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Peter also has National Board experience with Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities and Canadian Advertising Co-op.

Peter is appointed to the following Committees for 2012:
Fraser Valley Regional District (Alternate), Fraser Valley Regional Hospital Board (Alternate), Hope and District Recreation Commission (Alternate), Regional Parks Committee (Alternate) and Advantage Hope.
