I am serving my first term as Mayor after six years as a Councillor. I was born and raised in the north Okanagan with stints in Toronto, Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia and settled in Hope in 1974. I bring thirty-five years of local community experience to the District. Having served on a myriad of service clubs and non-profit boards, both government and non-government, and have a wide range of business experience. I believe I can lead a great team of staff and council to make a positive difference to all of our residents.
As Mayor, I am serving on the following Committees for 2009:
The Board of the Fraser Valley Regional District, Fraser Valley Treaty Advisory Committee, Fraser Valley Regional Parks Committee, Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District, Hope and District Recreation Commission, Hope Emergency Operations Committee, the Police Services Advisory Committee, The Hope & District Healthy Communities Committee, an alternate to the Municipal Insurance Association of BC and the Fraser Health Municipal Government Advisory Council.
I believe availability and communication are key ingredients to successful leadership and as such accept appointments every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until noon. As time conflicts are bound to happen, please check with staff for available times.

Tim Hudie is serving his first term on Council. Tim was born in Ontario, raised in Vancouver and has lived in Hope since 1991. Like many Canadians of his generation, Tim has had a couple of successful careers including a Journeyman Tradesman and a Licensed Equities Trader. Tim has been employed as a technician in the communications industry, presently with Shaw Cablesystems out of Chilliwack. Tim believes that Hope has enormous potential to become a destinational, residential and recreational area and Tim intends to be part of that potential through his work on Council and to eventually look back on having participated, along with every other citizen, in building a community that is second to none.
Tim is appointed to the Court of Revision Committee for 2009.

Scott Medlock is a six year resident of Hope and is serving his first term on Council. Scott is a dedicated father and husband and believes in the importance of family. He is connected to the business community through his employment as manager at a local automotive retail/wholesale parts distributor. Scott is involved in the community serving in many different capacities. Scott is the president of the Hope Lions Club for 2008-2009 and also serves as a director for the Hope and District Chamber of Commerce. Scott enjoys his role as Assistant District Chief in the Hope Volunteer Fire Department as well as a volunteer director with Hope Brigade Days. A diverse economic vision has been enhanced by his involvement as a board member with Community Futures Sun Country. Scott believes that economic development is the key to the success of our community and looks forward to years of exciting and rewarding service to the District of Hope.

Peter Robb is serving his second term on Council. Peter and his wife Donna have lived in the community for thirteen years and after over thirty years in the restaurant business they recently sold their restaurant and have retired in the community. Peter has local community experience with the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. Peter also has National Board experience with Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities and Canadian Advertising Co-op.
Peter is appointed to the following Committees for 2009:
Police Services Advisory Committee, Fraser Valley Regional District (Alternate), Fraser Valley Regional Hospital Board (Alternate), Hope and District Recreation Commission (Alternate), Spirit of BC Committee, Air Quality Committee, Regional Parks Committee (Alternate) and the Japanese Sister City Fellowship.

Born, raised and educated in the Lower mainland of Vancouver, Steve is a true blue product of BC. Married to Silvia, they and their four children, Jon, Lindsay, Julia and Matt are truly thankful to call Hope their home.
As a resident of the District of Hope since 1991 Steve has endeavored to bring a “Best Effort” attitude to every area of life and service in the community. Accomplished in working with leaders on all levels including both local and national, Steve’s desire is to connect and facilitate strong positive working relationships. During His time here in the District he has been a spearhead in establishing many charitable and non-profit organizations in a wide variety of endeavors.
In this His first term as District Councillor, Steve hopes to bring a mix of Experience, Team Work and Creativity to the table in forging a bright future for the community and surrounding region.
