![]() ![]() Media Release: Hope Residents Prepare for FloodsFor Immediate Release June 7, 2007- Due to rising water in the Fraser River the District of Hope has issued a Flood Alert to 66 properties in the Landstrom Road, Wardle Street, and Bristol Island/Tom Berry areas. The R.C.M.P. was assisted by Hope Search and Rescue to distribute the Alerts along with information about evacuation procedures. The District of Hope activated its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at 5:00 pm on June 6, 2007. The EOC will be operating throughout the event to monitor river levels, ensure public safety, and provide critical information to local agencies. Updates will be issued as they are made available and all public inquiries should be directed to the District of Hope Office and emergencies reported through 9-11.
