The Bylaw Enforcement and Licensing Section of the Corporate Services Department provides the public with information on the policies and procedures related to the various bylaws that are in force. This department is responsible for answering complaints and general inquires related to the interpretation of the District's bylaws, inspecting properties and premises to see that bylaws are being complied with, and enforcing the bylaws accordingly.
The Bylaw Department receives applications for new business licenses. Once the department ensures that the necessary conditions are met (such as zoning, health, building etc.), the Finance Department issues the business license.
